WINTER NIGHTTIME SKINCARE

Well, you cured my January blues, well you made it all alright..Yes, I'm serenading my new Skincare Routine with an Arctic Monkeys song. A bit too much? Well, wait untill you see what these beauties are capable of..

I'm currently sitting at my desk wtiting this post with an incredible flu, so I am feeling the January blues indeed. So how are you? I've heard we're all back in the swing of things.. i know it feels rubbish, but I've got what you need: a very rich, moisturizing nighttime skincare routine to kiss godbye the past day and be ready to snooze in the warmth of our blankets..

First thing we want to do is remove the makeup. Is it just me, or after a very buisy day as soon as i walk past my house door i feel the urge to scrap off my makeup with my fingers? A bit extreme, I know, but you get the gist. What I do like to do to remove my makeup is pick one of those two routines: I use my Bioderma Micellar Water when my skin is feeling oly and I have a few spots, as this product is very lightweight and gentle and doesn't break my skin out at all. Instead, whenever my skins feels dry and dehydrated I opt for a double clensing routine starting with my Super Facialist by Una Brennan Vitamin C Brighten Cleansing Oil : i just put a few dots on my fingers and massage this oil  to break my makeup down. After massaging it in for a few seconds, i then dampen the tip of my fingers and keep on massaging. The oil turns into a milky texture and gives the skin a deeper cleanse, as well as massive moisture boost. This product, however demands another cleanser after it: In winter I usually go for something very delicate, like this Nivea Gentle Cleansing Cream Wash: very cheap and cheerful, this creamy clenser gives the skin a deep wash without leaving it feeling too dry.

Now that my skin is finally clean, it's the right time to pop in a face mask. Face masks are always a great treat for you and for your skin, especially during winter, when it's cold outside and your face needs a little boost. Here I show you three of my favorite options. The cheapest one, is an H&M Face Mask: If you guys read my blog you'll know that i'm a massive fan of these. There are so many to choose from, they smell great, and they do the job. If you'd like a more in depth look on all of the different ones you can buy, click here to read one of my very first (and still most popular) blog posts. A bit more pricy, but still drugstore is a new discovery of mine, the Garnier Pure Active 3 in 1 : this is great because it's a 3 in 1  gem: cleanser a scrub and a mask in one tub. For me personally, i don't see the difference between the scrub and the cleanser side of the product, but the face mask is great for those very oly skin-spotty face days. This clay based product is quite intense, but leaves the skin feeling purified and clean. Third option is a pharmacy one: the NUXE Aroma- Perfection Unclogging Thermo Active Mask. Does exactly what it says. This bad boy is great all year round to be honest: i like to crack it out everytime i feel like adding a bit of luxe to my routine.

And now it's time to put some moisture back in our faces. First of all I use my spot treatment: The Effaclair K from La Roche-Posay is a very liquid gel that is perfect to apply on those areas of your face where you get spotty before your moisturizer. As it's winter and it's pretty cold, i use a richer face cream: Also from La Roche-Posay (you know i love it, right?) is the Hydreane Riche Moisturiser. Does what it says on the tin actually: your box standard -but very good indeed- fuss free, colder weather moisturiser. Finally, recently i've been converted to eye cream: the one i'm using now is by BioNike, and it's the eye and lip balm. Great product, very balmy, very hydrating and confortable on those delicate areas.

And that's it for my winter skincare routine! Do you use one of these products? Any suggestions on things I should try? Let  me know in the comments, and as always I'll talk to you soon!
